The Multimedia Group has filed a complaint against the Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong at the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters over what they describe as “life-threatening comments” passed concerning one Erastus Asare Donkor.
In the complaint available to Dennislaw News, the Group has alleged that the legislator made these comments on the July 9, 2021 edition of ‘the Attitude’ program aired on the Net 2 TV network owned by the lawmaker.
The comments are reportedly intended at calling for the “serious beating of Erastus Asare Donkor,” with remarks that if the lawmaker were President of the Republic, “he would have ensured that Erastus Asare Donkor is beaten mercilessly.
The Multimedia Group has also alleged that these remarks by the Hon. Kennedy Agyapong was prompted by the journalist’s undertaking of some reportage during the recent disturbances in Ejura, and further fueled by the said journalist’s appearance before the Justice Koomson Committee currently probing the incident.
“Sir, you may recall that sometime in the recent past, Honourable Agyapong issued similar threats against Ahmed Hussein-Suale, who at the time had undertaken some journalistic works; Ahmed Hussein-Suale was later horribly killed.”
“In the above circumstances, we wish to file this formal complaint of threat by Honourable Agyapong against the life of Erastus Asare Donkor and request that this complaint is investigated and Erastus Asare Donkor given the required protection,” the statement adds.
