MOE terminates Blue Grass Group’s contract for the supply of Mathematical Instrument

The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has revealed to parliament that the contract awarded to the Blue Grass Limited for the supply of mathematical set has been terminated by the ministry.

According to the minister, this decision was necessitated by Blue Grass’ breach of the contract.

The minister noted that the termination was done, pursuant to Section 24(1a) of the General Conditions Contract due to non-performance on the part of the supplier of the mathematical instruments.

Dr.Osei Adutwum made these statements when he appeared before the House of Parliament to respond to a question from the MP for Builsa South, Dr.Clement Apaak.

The Builsa South MP wanted to know from the Education Minister if Bluegrass Limited had been able to supply the  853,009 units of Kapek Scientific Mathematical Instruments at an estimated cost of GH₵63,975,675 at a unit cost of GH₵75.

The Ministry of Education signed a contract with Bluegrass Limited on 11th October 2019 to supply a total of 853, 009 Kapek Scientific Mathematical instruments at a unit cost of GH₵75.

Furthermore, the minister indicated that the above contract was amended and signed in October 2020 by the Ministry and Bluegrass, which saw the extension of the supply to January 2021.

However, Bluegrass Limited supplied only 416, 060 Mathematical instruments out of the number agreed in the contract, leading to the termination.
