The Campaign Manager of the NPP in the December 7, 2020 elections has urged the Supreme Court to dismiss a petition brought before it by a candidate of the NDC in the said elections.

Mr Peter Mac Manu, who acts as the lawful attorney of the president, the 2nd respondent in the said Petition, claims John Mahama’s petition is without merit, unfounded and misconceived.

“I accordingly pray the Court to dismiss entirely all the reliefs sought by the petitioner,” Mr Manu urged the lords of the Supreme Court.

The Former President is currently in court challenging the outcome of January 7, 2020, Presidential Elections results as declared by the Electoral Commission.

He contends that neither him nor President Akufo-Addo, who was declared the winner in that elections, had enough votes to be announced the winner as stipulated by the constitution.

The President’s predecessor wants an annulment of that verdict and in its place, another round of election organised between himself and the president.
