A/R: Police apprehends seven suspects linked to kidnapping of Chief of Dedesua


    The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested seven suspects over the alleged kidnapping of the Chief of Dedesua, in the Asante Akyem South District, Nana Owusu Sefa Brempong.

    A statement signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, Godwin Ahianyo, said the Regional Information Command Centre received reports of the alleged kidnapping on March 1, 2021, at about 3:40pm.

    It said officers from the Konongo Police Patrol Team were dispatched to follow up on the information and in the process, they intercepted an unregistered Honda Civic private car and a Toyota Matrix Taxi Cab at Kubease near Ejisu.

    The statement said, occupants of the vehicles are said to be the suspected kidnappers and their victim, Nana Owusu Sefa Brempong.

    The suspects according to the police are Kwame Boafo 52 years, Kwabena Ofori 40 , Theophilus Larbi 27, Yakubu Adamu 28 , Musah Adanda 37 , Edward Kwadwo 36, and Benjamin Gbli 26 years.

    The victim who was seen with injuries was issued a police medical form to attend hospital and report back to the police to assist with investigations. The suspects remain in police custody pending further inquiry.
